Gail Harker Center for Creative Arts Celebrating 20 Years of Art at the La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum

July 4, 2015

We are at the beginning of our 20 year celebration by having seven graduates from Level 4 Experimental Stitch and Multi Media exhibiting at the La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum.  Martha Kleihege from San Francisco Ca., Susan Lenarz from Mount Vernon Wa., Karen Nelson from Hettinger N.D.,  Alba Romero from Seattle Wa., Jill Taylor from Vancouver, B.C.,  Maria Winner from Portland Oregon and Deborah Zibrik from Vancouver B.C. are exhibiting. The opening reception was on July 1 and the show is up until Oct. 4th. This beautiful old house/gallery is the perfect setting for stitched artwork such as this group has produced. Look for their work on the main floor – it is dotted around in various places, up the stairways and on the 3rd floor exclusively.  Of course the house shows off quilts equally well.  Caryl Bryer Fallert – Gentry shows her quilts on the 2nd floor. A special Knitting Exhibit shows on the first floor. Here are a few pictures from the group of Seven from the Gail Harker Center for Creative Art.
