Flowers and Lace in Fashion…….Guest Blogger : Isabel Parker

November 29, 2014

Level 4 Research for Art and Design – Exhibition

The subject I chose to study for this course is fashion.  At the beginning I was not sure how that would manifest as it is such a wide topic.  I could have studied shapes, designs, fastenings, construction etc.  In the end the work evolved to emphasize flowers and lace in fashion and paper.

It has been a wonderful journey to take the theme and develop designs from it.  At the beginning I could never have imagined the directions the designs would go.  Whoever would think of a table and curtains?

As usual Gail has again challenged me to always improve and to always keep looking.  The next part of our journey together promises more laughter and learning.  I’m looking forward to it.   Isabel Parker

Congratulations on completing lovely and inspiring lacy designs. I love the idea of creating in paper where the only limiting factor is “not falling apart.” There is a real freshness in your work! Beautiful!
