Level 3 Studies in Art and Design – Exhibition
A greater understanding and appreciation of “the artist’s way” has become my way during my second year of Level 3. My final class project focuses on the aloha spirit of Hawaii which is represented in tropical flowers, foliage and colors. Multiple techniques were used during the process of manipulating florals into designs to display on aloha shirts and muu-muus used as a canvas, if you will. “Aloha” is not just a trip to Hawaii but rather a way of life which I plan to use alongside my artist’s way to further enrich my life and those around me. Mahalo.

Congratulations Pennie! What a fun theme you chose to work with. It seems so appropo given our beautiful summer wheather. I look forward to seeing more of your work!
Cool idea – I really love those lamps!
Having lived in Hawaii for a couple of years I can appreciate the “spirit” that comes through in your design. Looks like a fun theme.
It is fun to see your work highlighted here in the blog as was seeing it in person at the exhibit. Wonderful work Penny–the translucense of the 3D flowers is wonderful.
Love all the different techniques! The dimensional flowers are really beautiful. Love the lamps, too.
So love your style! And I most love those plaster texture works, so beautiful and evocotive. And then the cat can contribute, too! 🙂
