Rooms with a View – La Traviata

Having a scenic view in a restaurant apparently helps couples – especially women, enjoy their experience more while dining. Don and I visited our local new La Conner restaurant, La Traviata a couple of times already. I have enjoyed the view each time so I will ask for a new table each time until I have tried out all 44 tables. Thank you to Jose Antonio Pina to allow me photography permission to show you what his restaurant looks like. From the outside, this building with a plaque that reads Will Wells Building(1895) has changed from an old movie house,  tea house and now La Traviata looks like an unlikely place for an eating establishment.  We watched for a number of months while they were totally revamping the place, wondering what it would look like. The color scheme is warm and colorful, tables are thoughtfully placed with a feeling of space and comfort and a little old world splendor. It is furnished with elegance. So you might be wondering about the food by now. What a lovely surprise to choose from salads, soups, pasta, fish, seafood and much more. Service was professional, friendly and efficient. I know our students will appreciate that the restaurant is open 7 days a week and has a lighter menu in addition to full course meals. The home made pizza (9 varieties) are so very, very good. It is very close to our school  – 201 East Morris St. When you are here again in La Conner, try it out.    Gail Harker
