Maria Patrizzi’s Art of Paper Casting

May 17, 2013

In April, guest tutor, Maria Patrizzi, came to share her unique expertise to a group of students for a fully packed day of papercasting. Maria is a specialist in papercasting vessels and other dimensional items. The students are in Level 4 Diploma – Experimental Research for Advanced Design. At this level they are researching themes, working with a variety of media and are beginning to work in a 3 dimensional format. At the end of the day everyone completed samples and were really excited about the many options of the design process. They went home to build a dimensional item themselves. Maria will be teaching a 5 day class here next summer in 2014. Let us know if you would like to be on our list of interested people!!!!!

It’s the first time I’ve seen this unique 3D paper work. I’m very impressed by Maria’s work. It’s wonderful. Avital Baron Izackov

Reblogged this on The Best of It and commented:
What an exciting session these artists had at Gail’s Center! It’s the time of year when my mind turns to papermaking- my setup is really limited to fair-weather work. That means this little injection of inspiration is just what I needed right now.
