Why Don’t Sheep Shrink in the Rain?

October 19, 2012

A new book: The Complete Guide to Felting authored  by Ruth Lane poses this question to her readers.  This 240 page book by Creative Publishing International answers questions we didn’t know we had.  It has hundreds of photographs by Dennis Green,  many of them staged .   It clearly shows and describes so many processes from traditional wet felting, Nuno or laminate felting and also needle felting by hand and machine.  There are lots of projects, tips, glossary and easy to read advice.  What a wonderful introduction to the world of felting.  Ruth specializes in felting and just happens to also be one of our students .  Congratulations!!!  All photos are from this book.  The lion head is by Birgitte Krag Hansen.

I had a chance to look through this wonderful book. It’s got lots of useful information, and many pictures. A perfect guide for trying lots of new felting techniques. Penny

Thanks for the wonderful post, Gail. And thanks Penny for the kind comment. Just so you know, it’s Dennis Green, not Lane. 🙂

    Hi Ruth,
My apologies to Dennis. The blog now reads Green instead of Lane.

Thanks Gail! I get called Ruth Green all the time but it isn’t very often that he gets called Dennis Lane.
