Grandeur of the West Coast Rainforests… Guest Blogger – Deborah Zibrik

Experimental Research for

Advanced Design – Diploma Course Exhibition

Class Name: Sapphires

Patterns, shapes, lines, grids, textures and colours in the magical grandeur of the west coast rainforests were the sources of my inspiration for this course. From the start I recall being in awe. Over the last two years, I have learned how to look better – I mean to really look closely to uncover some of the design secrets in the forests. My goal for this course was to learn more about just why our visual senses and visceral response attracts us to some art pieces and not others.  Armed with the tools and techniques gathered in this course I have more confidence to interpret my ideas, am encouraged to more frequently be able to link these to the principles of design and quite clearly understand that the heart of “a good piece” comes from developing good design.   Artwork © Deborah Zibrik

The delicacy and the “dance” within your pieces is great. They seem to move as I look at them.
