Exhibit Transformation at Barn House

April 23, 2012

Unexpected things happen. A 65 year old tree that fell in a wind storm has to be cleared before it falls unto the highway..

We have been busily preparing for an exhibit of Level 3 Advanced Experimental Stitch – the Calypso group.  As we only have a small group of workers behind the scenes, it feels very personal, as if we are preparing for a family celebration!  A small band of loyal gardeners appear in the rainiest of weather to cut, mow and clean last year’s debris from 3 acres.  The classrooms are cleaned, teaching tools and materials mysteriously disappear in order to transform the space into a gallery for the artwork. By the time the students arrive, 4 days in advance of the exhibition, we welcome them to the next phase of the preparation. This is their week to learn about staging an exhibition and then to actually hang the art as well.

The swans are now leaving the fields around us and flying away. They have been here since Thanksgiving.

Gardening in the rain.

VOLUNTEERS ARRIVE TO HELP WITH SOME OF THE INSTALLATIONS.

Oh my goodness! Five new kittens, I’m sure that wasn’t part of the plans. I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition posts.

No kittens weren’t in the plans but it sure keeps things exciting around here. Gail
