Countdown to First Exhibition at Barn House

September 11, 2011

Level 3 students of Art and Design will be exhibiting their work on Sept. 17 and 18th as well as 18 past and present students, to show an array of embroidered artworks as well as surface design. Putting together an exhibition is nerve frazzling enough but to actually have to construct the room as well is an added challenge. It is very exciting as the students bring their exhibition pieces to the studio and we place them safely on the third floor until the space is ready. The slides show a wall coming down.

We are using classroom space for this exhibition so we are converting the design room and the soon to be needlework room into space to showcase all the items. They are big rooms and we will stretch them to capacity. I thought that you might like to see some of last week’s activities as our dedicated team work away daytime, evenings, Sat.and Sunday. A wall has come down, a new beam set into place, new lighting has been added, old walls are replaced. I’ll keep you posted as the space changes.  Hope you can come.   Gail
