Dedicated Stitchers Dream, Design and Sample

August 30, 2011

Nine members of the Calypso Level Three Advanced Studies in Experimental Stitch met in August for their sixth five day session.  Everybody is really dedicated to their studies and although most lead an incredibly busy life (some working fulltime), they all manage to schedule time for their studies.  Nobody has missed a session since the beginning – May 2010 . Quite a record. Many completed a three dimensional embroidery project and spent the session designing, planning and sampling for their wall hanging project. Penny and I had great discussions with everybody about the progress of their individually designed projects. They are so exciting.  Showing the projects will be kept for a surprise for others. We’ll wait to showcase them at their exhibition April 14 and 15th, 2012. You should book your calendar now. So you can still see some embroidery in this blog I am also featuring two of our former level 3 City and Guilds students stitched artwork .

The Calypso group gather to individually describe their progress to the class

Last day of class after lunch , we summarize the session's events and get ready to re enter the busy world again.
