Seduced by Color

April 12, 2011

Nature inspires us with spectacular color schemes. Take this peacock feather for example. Just one feather could provide endless palettes of color to play with and develop for a new work of art. That’s what the Tiger Flowers, a Level 1 Color Studies group of students did last week in our studio. They learned new ways to look at and mix paint to make color charts, wheels and  schemes.

Peacock eye has wonderful possibilities for color scheme.

Finding values is key when it comes to color schemes.

The palette can be an inspiration in itself.
