Powerful Design and Color in Peruvian Textiles

We were happy to have Melanie Ebertz, designer and founder of ArtAndes bring her beautiful work to the studio. Melanie works primarily in geometric designs with a muted palette. Melanie also has a long association with Maximo Laura, and we were fortunate that she was able to bring several of his pieces with her. A fifth-generation master weaver, accomplished contemporary artist and scholar, Laura uses his knowledge of design and weaving to create works that showcase his artistic vision while maintaining traditional iconography.  Any student of design should not miss looking at his exceptional use of color and contemporary design.
