All That Glistens is Not Gold

March 30, 2011

The Topaze group – a  Level 4 Advanced Stitch Course were in the studio for the past 5 days.  They were working with metallic threads and shiny fabrics by machine.  Some of the same threads that were used for hand stitch, work exceptionally well for machine embroidery.  Everyone has a theme and the challenge, or I should say the excitement is to translate technique into art as the group work towards completing a set of hand and machine Metal Work Samples

Metallic Twists are great to sew with.

Really exciting work! Wish I lived close enough to take some of the classes.
